Nashville’s Historic 2nd Avenue

Nashville’s Historic 2nd Avenue

In the hours after the Christmas Day 2020 bombing of Nashville’s historic 2nd Avenue, Cyril was asked by the Historic Commission and Historic Zoning Commission to lead a task force to address the rebuilding of 2nd Avenue to a vibrant community better than it ever had been and to respect the historic architecture and wishes of the community in the process.

Working closely with the Mayor’s office, Metro Historic, Metro Planning, the Downtown Partnership, the Urban Land Institute, Civic Design Center and others, Cyril has been a champion for creation of a new, vibrant community, not only on 2nd Avenue but from Broadway to the Metro Courthouse and from the Cumberland River to 2nd Avenue.
