The Franklin Theatre

Recovering a Downtown Jewel: Franklin Theatre

The Franklin Theatre first opened its doors in 1937, and was a constant presence on Main Street until it closed in 2007. The Heritage Foundation purchased the property and invested over $8 million to make it a first-class venue for live music, movies and theatrical performances, as well as a centerpiece of downtown Franklin, TN.

As Board Member and Project Leader for the Heritage Foundation, Cyril advised Foundation leadership and staff in every aspect of the project, was the owner’s representative with the architects and contractor and brought his expertise as an architect and project leader.

The result of this team’s efforts is an extraordinary project that delights all who come to Franklin.
