Vine Street Christian Church Renovation, Nashville, Tennessee

Designed by noted Nashville Architect, Edwin Keeble, this landmark church opened in 1957. Although well maintained, the interiors and much of the heating, air conditioning and electrical infrastructure needed updating, as well as making this two story, four level structure accessible for all. With the congregation’s goal of respecting the historic architecture, Cyril was hired to lead the renovation. Converting single use spaces into multi-use spaces, upgrading mechanical and electrical systems, adding an elevator, and converting a little used entrance into an attractive, accessible entrance were some of the accomplishments of this project. The renovations were completed in time for the congregation to celebrate it’s two hundredth anniversary in 2021.

Renasant Bank – Franklin, Tennessee

When Mississippi based Renasant Bank wanted to expand into downtown Franklin, they picked a highly visible site and hired Cyril to design and provide construction documents and observation for the project. Today, the site houses a building that blends the traditional look of Franklin with state of the art interiors and technology. One of the first banks to utilize “virtual teller” technology, it is a great addition to Columbia Avenue.

River House

Dr. Karl Vandevender loves the water. Boating and being on the water are lifetime passions. Ann Patchett Vandevender wanted a getaway place for writing and relaxation. They asked Cyril to design and manage the construction of a home on a Cumberland River lot.

The result will be a cozy river cottage embracing the simplicity of river living with current energy conservation, appliances and solar energy technology.

Homestead Manor Plantation—Thompson’s Station, TN

When Andy Marshall, owner of Puckett’s restaurants in middle Tennessee wanted to transform a historic 1819 plantation home and farm into a restaurant and event venue, he engaged Cyril to design accessory structures for the home and an event barn for weddings and other special occasions.

The complexity of the project included insuring that the design was appropriate for the historic home and grounds and in keeping with the Land Trust designation of the project.

The long term vision for the project includes gardens and greenhouses, multi-use trails connecting the property with adjacent parks and properties, and an interpretative pavilion to educate guests on the historic property.
